Breaking – Ukulele original lyrics and music by Kendra Dantes

How to play "Breaking" on piano, originally by Kendra Dantes

Here are all the notes, chords, lyrics, lead sheets, and chord charts you could want to play this awesome song just like Kendra...

This song is inspired by one of my favorite books called “Carve the Mark” by Veronica Roth. It is the 3rd song I have written on the ukulele. (My first song on the uke that I wrote is called “We Don’t Need Mistletoe” and the 2nd one is called “Original Song”.) I love to read almost as much as I love to write music! Thank you so much for supporting my music, I hope you enjoy!

Lyrics for this original song:

Verse 1:
I am a glass dropped on concrete
I am a sculpture but I incomplete
I am the animal that needs to be tamed
I am a desert and I need rain
Pre-Chorus:
I am breaking and you’re my escape
Now I can breathe but I still ache
The hurt follows me like a shadow
The guilt eats away I can’t stand alone
Chorus:
I am breaking, I am breaking, peace by peace
I am breaking, I am breaking, I need mercy (x2)
Verse 2:
You are the candle that lights the dark
You are the bandage that covers my heart
You are the medicine that gives me relief
You are the quiet in the raging sea
Pre-Chorus:
I am breaking and you’re my escape
Now I can breathe but I still ache
The hurt follows me like a shadow
The guilt eats away I can’t stand alone
Chorus:
I am breaking, I am breaking peace by peace
I am breaking, I am breaking, I need mercy
Bridge:
Life is at crescendo
Voices whispering wherever I go
But because of you, I can prove
That I can feel love and I can choose
Chorus:
I am breaking, I am breaking peace by peace
I am breaking, I am breaking, I need mercy
Outro:
You are the sunset in my sky
You gave me wings so I could fly
