I was inspired to write this song about acceptance when I learned about the Love Loud Festival a couple weeks ago. It spoke to my heart immediately that we need more acceptance in the world and more songs about accepting people of all backgrounds.
Grace VanderWaal posted a video about an original song writing contest where the winner gets the opportunity to perform in Salt Lake City Utah on July 28th with her! I cannot imagine getting that kind of opportunity, I would be ecstatic! I decided to write a song and enter the contest, even though there are LOTS of amazing entries and my chances of winning are not the greatest. I figure, you can’t win anything if you don’t at least try! The Love Loud Festival is put on by Dan Reynolds, lead vocalist of Imagine Dragons. I am a huge Imagine Dragons fan, in fact, one of my best friends and I went to see them in concert in my hometown last year. They were amazing! I have also been a Grace VanderWaal fan ever since I first saw her on America’s Got Talent a couple years ago. For a 12 year old to win with her original songs, well that’s pretty impressive! Her songs and her music inspire me everyday to follow my dreams!
